IPL 2012: Match 34, Royal Challengers Bangalore v Chennai Super Kings
Rain delayed match 34 of the the Indian Premier League ( IPL) 2012 between The Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Chennai Superkings held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on the 25th April 2012
Rain played spoilsport for the second night in a row as the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Chennai Super Kings was called off without a single delivery being bowled.
After RCB’s Daniel Vettori was ruled out of the game due to a niggle, stand-in skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field first. However, with rain coming down incessantly at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the match officials finally called off the game at 11:00 pm.
With both teams taking a point each from this game, CSK and RCB are now placed third and fourth respectively in the DLF IPL 2012 table. The two sides along with the Kolkata Knight Riders have nine points each from their eight games, but KKR are placed second since they have a better net run-rate.
The Chennai Super Kings play their next league encounter at Chepauk against Kings XI Punjab on April 28 at 4 pm, while the Royal Challengers Bangalore will play the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on the same day at 8 pm.
