There was nothing sweet about this revenge as Delhi  Daredevils avenged their loss against Pune Warriors at home, to win their clash on Tuesday by a mammoth 8-wicket margin. A look at the statistical highlights from the match.

# Pietersen has recorded 16 sixes - the second highest in the IPL 5, next only to Gayle's 19.

# Manish Pandey's unbeaten 80 off 56 balls is the second highest for Pune Warriors, next only to the 86 by Ryder against Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi on April 21, 2012.

# Pandey's superb knock is his second highest in the IPL, next only to the 114 not out for Bangalore against Hyderabad at Centurion Park on May 21, 2009. 

# Pandey and Uthappa were associated in an unbroken stand of 145 for the third wicket - Pune's first century partnershipin the IPL. 

# The aforesaid century is the second highest for the third wicket in the IPL, next only to the 152 between Murali Vijay and Albie Morkel for Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals at Chennai on April 3, 2010.

# The seventh highest stand in the history of the IPL is the highest ever by any pair against Delhi Daredevils.

# Morne Morkel has taken 16 wickets at 12.25 in seven matches - the highest in the IPL 5.

Delhi Daredevils win by 8 wickets

Delhi's batsmen enjoyed themselves as they chased a tame score from Pune. Captain Sehwag was the stand out performer, with 87 runs, but Jaywardene and Pietersen showed why this side are tournament favourites with impressive supporting innings. Pune never recovered from their horrible start when they lost Ryder and Ganguly for only one run.

  • Sehwag: "Good to be top of the table, all because of my bowlers, they did a fantastic job."
  • Ganguly: "We didn't get enough runs, it's a good wicket, not a big ground, so 170-180 would be a par score. We were under six an over for about 13 overs and then got some runs in the end"
