Statistical highlights of the IPL match between the Pune Warriors and Delhi Daredevils

# Pune Warriors have recorded their first win in three games against Delhi Daredevils.

# Pune Warriors' 192 for three is their highest ever total in the IPL history, surpassing the 187 for five against Delhi Daredevils at Mumbai on April 17, 2011.  

# Pune Warriors' previous highest in the present competition was 182 for six against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bangalore on April 17.

# Pune Warriors' 192 for three is the highest score by any team against Delhi Daredevils in the IPL 5.

# Jesse Ryder (86 off 58 balls) has recorded the highest individual innings for Pune Warriors in the IPL, surpassing his own record of 73 not out off 56 balls against Chennai Super Kings at Pune on April 14, 2012.

# Ryder became the first Pune batsman to manage 500 runs in the IPL - 509 at an average of 28.27 in 19 matches, including four fifties.

# Jesse Ryder and Sourav Ganguly were involved in a stand of 93 for the second wicket - Pune's highest for any wicket in the IPL, obliterating the 81 for the third wicket between Marlon Samuels and Robin Uthappa against Punjab at Pune on April 8, 2012.  

# Sourav Ganguly (41 off 35 balls) has recorded his highest innings for Pune in the IPL.

# Ganguly is averaging just 18.00 in the present edition - 126 runs in seven innings.

# Ganguly's overall average for Pune in the IPL is 19.55 - 176 runs in eleven games.

# Robin Uthappa is the third highest run-scorer for Pune in the present edition - 190 at an average of 27.14 in seven matches.  Ryder, with 217 runs at an average of 43.40 in six matches, is the top run-scorer, followed by Steven Smith (194 at 38.80 in seven matches).

# Morne Morkel became the first bowler to claim 15 wickets (ave.10.80) in six matches in the IPL 5.

# Alfonso Thomas has taken his tally of wickekts to 159  at an average of 20.32 in 135 matches in Twenty20.  Only Dirk Nannes has bagged more wickets than Thomas - 178 at an average of 20.77 in 142 matches.

# Thomas' figures of 3 for 22 are his best in the IPL.

# Virender Sehwag (57 off 32 balls) has posted his first fifty in the IPL 5.

# During the course of his tenth fifty in the IPL, Sehwag has completed his 1500 runs in the IPL - 1533 at an average of 28.92 in 56 matches.

# Sehwag is the eighth batsman overall to manage 1500 runs or more in the IPL.  Suresh Raina is the leading run-getter - 1951 at an average of 34.22 in 69 matches.

# Sehwag and Pietersen put on 75 for the second wicket - Delhi's highest against Pune in the IPL.

# Kevin Pietersen has managed 187 runs at an average of 93.50 in four matches - the highest by a Delhi player in the IPL 5.

# Pietersen's tally of 14 sixes is the highest by a Delhi batsman in the present edition of the IPL.

Pune Warriors India win by 20 runs

So Ganguly's men pull off a shock victory here in Delhi, the captain himself changing the second innings with the dismissal of Kevin Pietersen (32). Sehwag (57) was firing but as soon as Kartik got him it was game over for the Daredevils. Great bowling by Thomas at the death meant it was easy for the Warriors in the end.

  • Ganguly: "It's a relief to get any wicket, especially when those two were hitting it into the stands. Our last five overs with the bat were great and they got us over the line. It was such a relief to get Pietersen out and that turned the game, you could see my delight.”
  • Sehwag: “Dada did very well and was running like a 20 year old again. Doesn't matter how many batsmen we have one batsman needs to hang around until the end. I was annoyed I couldn't bat on as I felt strong.”

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata. While Eden Gardens celebrated 150 years, Rohit lit-up the stadium with a well paced 264 off 173 to make the occasion memorable.
