Following are the statistical highlights of the IPL match between Delhi Daredevils and Deccan Chargers in Delhi.

# Kevin Pietersen's superb hundred is his first in Twenty20.

# Pietersen, playing in his 70th game, has completed his 2,000 runs in Twenty20, aggregating 2086 (ave.35.35), including a century and eleven fifties.

# Pietersen's unbeaten 103 off 64 balls is the second highest for Delhi Daredevils against Deccan Chargers, next only to the 119 off 56 balls by Virender Sehwag at Hyderabad on May 5, 2011.

# Pietersen has posted nine sixes during his aforesaid innings, outstripping Paul Collingwood's feat (75 not out off 46 balls) against Bangalore at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi on April 4, 2010.

# Pietersen's nine sixes are the most in the IPL 5, bettering Chris Gayle's eight against Pune at Bangalore on April 17.

# Pietersen's hundred is the 20th in the IPL history.

# Pietersen has received his ninth Man of the Match award in Twenty20.

# Pietersen's previous highest in the IPL was 66 not out against Punjab at Mohali on April 2, 2010.

# Besides a hundred each by Sehwag and Pietersen, only two other batsmen have registered centuries for Delhi Daredevils in the IPL - David Warner (107 not out against Kolkata at Delhi on March 29, 2010) and Abraham de Villiers (105 not out against Chennai Super Kings at Durban on April 23, 2009).

# Shikhar Dhawan (44 off 29 balls) has posted his highest innings against Delhi Daredevils in the IPL.

# Dhawan has totalled 158 runs at an average of 39.50 in four matches - the highest by a Deccan batsman this year in the IPL.

# Delhi Daredevils' convincing five-wicket win is their fourth in five games in the IPL 5. They are on top of the table with eight points.

# Deccan Chargers became the first side to have lost four consecutive games in the IPL 5. They have not recorded a win in the present competition.

# Delhi Daredevils have won 32 and lost 29 out of 62 played (NR 1) - success % 52.45.

# Patil's 45 off 27 balls is his highest for Deccan Chargers in the IPL.

# Shahbaz Nadeem (3/16) has recorded his career-best bowling performance in Twenty20.

# Irfan Pathan could claim just two wickets at 60.00 runs apiece in four matches in the IPL 2012.

# Morne Morkel is the leading wicket-taker in the IPL 2012 - 12 at 9.33 runs apiece in five matches.

It's been the KP show here in Delhi, Deccan have only themselves to blame having put him down three times! Chipli had a sitter when he was on only 6 and dropped it, turned the match. Sangakkara's men are still without a point this tournament as it's starting to look serious for his team.


  • Sehwag: "The way KP batted he did a fantastic job for us. We have strengthened our batting and other teams will be scared of us. Nadeem is a good prospect and he has improved a lot and delivered today. We love to play in Delhi and thanks to the crowd and their support, we really appreciate it."
  • Sangakkara: "Back to the drawing board again and we dropped him cheaply which cost us. We were probably 20 runs short with the bat but all credit to KP, it was a fantastic innings. We need to be consistent and smarter, again we couldn't carry on a good start with the bat, we won't be negative though as we will handle this and move on."

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata. While Eden Gardens celebrated 150 years, Rohit lit-up the stadium with a well paced 264 off 173 to make the occasion memorable.
