Rajasthan Royals win by 59 runs

The Royals have thrashed RCB here in Bengaluru, all thanks some stunning batting from Rahane (103*) and Shah (60). Both players were spraying the ball all over the ground in the closing stages of the first innings. One over went for 6 boundaries, the first time every in DLF IPL history. RCB had to go all out attack and they couldn't get going. Agarwal top scored with 34 but it was too much to ask after their bowlers let them down.

  • Dravid: “I am very touched from the response of the fans, it was a special day for me. Both Rahane & Shah played beautifully and some of their shots were incredible. We don't have the big players or money but we are making the best of our resources and I am very proud.”
  • Vettori: “We started really well with Zaheer bowling beautifully, but some amazing hitting from Rahane & Shah took the game away from us. Our poor bowling at the death is a recurrent theme and if we want to progress in this competition then we will have to sort it out. We have to get on the winning wagon pretty quickly.”
