Highlights: 3rd ODI - India tour of Srilanka 2012

There were some impressive individual performances as India edged past Sri Lanka in the third ODI in Colombo on Saturday.

# Angelo Matthews' superb unbeaten 71 off 57 balls is his second highest innings against India, next only to the 75 at Bulawayo on May 30, 2010.

# Matthews has recorded his 11th fifty in ODIs - his second against India.

# Matthews' strike rate of 124.56 is his highest when he has scored at least a fifty.

# Jeevan Mendis' brilliant unbeaten 45 is his second highest score in ODIs, next only to the 48 against England at Old Trafford on July 9, 2011.

# Mendis' previous highest against India was 35 not out at Harare on June 5, 2010.

# Matthews and Mendis were associated in an unbroken stand of 104 off 72 balls - Sri Lanka's highest sixth wicket stand against India in Sri Lanka. Their run-rate of 8.66 is the highest for Sri Lanka for the sixth wicket - also the highest by any pair for the sixth wicket against India. (minimum 100 runs).

# Sourav Ganguly and Robin Singh had put on 119 (unbroken) off 69 balls (RR 10.34) against New Zealand at Gwalior on November 11, 1999 - the best run-rate for the sixth wicket in ODIs (minimum 100 runs).

# Sri Lanka have registered five century partnerships against India for the sixth wicket in ODIs.

# Mahela Jayawardene's 17th fifty against Inia is his 68th in ODIs.

# Jayawardene is averaging 34.46 as captain, aggregating 3446 in 119 matches, including four hundreds and 23 fifties.

# Sangakkara has recorded his 73rd fifty in ODIs - his 16th against India.

# As designated wicketkeeper, Sangakkara has registered 71 fifties.

# Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara were involved in a stand of 121 - Sri Lanka's highest for the fourth wicket against India, outstripping the 116 by the same pair at Dambulla on July 18, 2004.

# Sangakkara-Jayawardene pair became the first Sri Lankan pair and the fourth to have recorded 30 century stands or more in international cricket. Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly were involved in 38, followed by Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes (31) and by Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid (31).

# Jayawardene figures in three out of four century partnerships for the fourth wicket for Sri Lanka against India.

# Jayawardene and Sangakkara have recorded five century partnerships in 25 innings against India - a tally exceeded only by Gordon Greenidge and Desmond (six).

# Ashok Dinda has conceded 75 runs or more in an ODI for the first time..

# Gautam Gambhir's 102 off 101 balls is his second century at Colombo RPS, next only to the 150 against Sri Lanka on February 5, 2009.

# Gambhir's 11th century in ODIs is his sixth against Sri Lanka.

# Dinesh Chandimal has recorded his fourth duck in ODIs - his first against India.

# With Upul Tharanga's catch, Dhoni has become the first wicketkeeper to complete 25 catches against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka in ODIs - 31 dismissals (25 catches + 6 stumpings) in 24 matches.

# India (288 for five) have recorded the highest successful chase at Colombo (RPS), eclipsing their own record of 271 for two against England on September 22, 2002.

# India's above total is the highest successful chase by a visiting team in Sri Lanka. The said total is the second highest successful chase by any team in Sri Lanka, behind the 289 for four by Sri Lanka against Pakistan at Dambulla on August 3, 2009.

# India have won 12 ODIs out of 30 contested against Sri Lanka at Colombo, RPS (Lost 15 & NR 3 - winning % 44.44.
