India had an all-round performance to show for their efforts against Sri Lanka on Saturday. A look at the statistical highlights from the match that saw MS Dhoni and his side register a 21-run win.

# Virat Kohli has got his eleventh Man of the Match award in ODIs - his third against Sri Lanka. He has received four MOM awards this year - the most by him in a calendar year.

# Kohli has posted three successive centuries against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

# Kohli became the first player to register four hundreds in ODIs this year. His fourth century against Sri Lanka is his 12th in ODIs.

# The three Sri Lankan players to register centuries at Hambantota are Mahela Jayawardene - 100 against Canada on February 20, 2011; Upul Tharanga - 111 against Australia on August 16, 2011 and Kumar Sangakkara - 133 against India on July 21, 2012.

# The match-aggregate of 607 for 15 wickets in the just concluded game is the second highest between India and Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, next only to the 608 for 16 wickets at Colombo (RPS) on July 7, 1998.

# India became the first team to post 70 totals of 300 or more in ODIs.

# India (314 for six) have recorded their fourth highest against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka - the highest ever is 363 for five at Colombo, RPS on February 3, 2009.

# Sangakkara's tally of 12 hundreds in 287 matches as wicketkeeper is bettered only by Adam Gilchrist's 16 in 287 ODIs.

# Kumar Sangakkara is the first batsman to manage 1,000 runs in ODIs in 2012 - 1038 at an average of 45.13 in 25 matches.

# Sangakkara became the first batsman to record a hundred and two fifties in ODIs at Hambantota. His tally of 326 at an average of 81.50 in four matches is the highest at this venue.

# Sangakkara's superb 133 off 151 balls is his highest score in ODis at home. His only other hundred at home is 101 against Australia at Colombo (RPS) on February 27, 2004.

# Sangakkara and Perera were involved in a stand of 78 for the seventh wicket - the highest partnership at Hambantota.

# Perera's brilliant 44 off 28 balls is his highest score against India as well as at home. The said knock is his second highest in ODIs, next only to the 69 not out against South Africa at Kimberley on January 20, 2012.

# Suresh Raina (50 off 45 balls) has posted his 22nd fifty in ODIs - his sixth against Sri Lanka.

# Thisara Perera has captured 25 wickets (ave.23.56) in 15 matches this year - the most by him in a calendar year.

# In four successive games, Rangana Herath has failed to take a wicket against India. In five matches against India, he has claimed two wickets at an average of 85.50

# India have won three games in succession against Sri Lanka in ODIs - by 7 wickets at Hobart on February 28, 2012; by 50 runs at Dhaka on March 13 and by 21 runs at Hambantota on July 21.

# Sri Lanka have won two and lost two out of four ODIs contested at Hambantota. They have lost one ODI each to Australia and India at this venue.

# Four centuries in five innings is an exceptional performance in ODIs - no other batsman has achieved the said feat. He has become the third Indian to register five innings of fifty-plus in succession in ODIs, joining Sachin Tendulkar in 1994 and Rahul Dravid in 2004-05 (four for India and one for Asia XI)

# In fact, Kohli has recorded six fifty-plus scores in his last seven innings in ODIs - 66 vs Sri Lanka at Brisbane on February 21, 2012 & 21 vs Australia at Sydney on February 26, 133 not out, 108, 66, 183 & 106.

# Kohli became the first visiting player to post a hundred at Hambantota

# Kohli's tally of 596 runs at an average of 149.00 is a record in five innings in succession, eclipsing Matthew Hayden's aggregate of 529 at an average of 132.25 in 2007.

# Sehwag's 96 is his first fifty in six innings since recording 219 (a career-best) against the West Indies at Indore on December 8, 2011,

# Sehwag's excellent 38th ODI fifty is his fifth against Sri Lanka. He has posted his sixth score in the nervous nineties - his second against Sri Lanka. He had registered an unbeaten 99 at Dambulla on August 16, 2010.

# Sehwag and Virat Kohli were associated in a partnership of 173 for the second wicket - India's fifth century partnership against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. The said partnership is the second highest, next only to the 188 between Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir at Colombo, RPS on February 5, 2009.

# The 173-run partnership between Sehwag and Kohli is the highest for the second wicket by any pair at Hambantota.

# The above partnership is the second highest for any wicket at Hambantota, behind the 179 for the third wicket between Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara for Sri Lanka against Canada on February 20, 2011.

# Lasith Malinga (10-0-83-0), for the first time has conceded 80 runs or more without claiming a wicket in an ODI.

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata. While Eden Gardens celebrated 150 years, Rohit lit-up the stadium with a well paced 264 off 173 to make the occasion memorable.
