MS Dhoni was playing his 250th ODI. He became first Indian and only the fourth wicketkeeper after Kumar Sangakkara, Mark Boucher and Adam Gilchrist to reach this mark.

Virat Kohli (127) scored his 20th ODI hundred – his third against West Indies.

Kohli took 133 innings to score 20 ODI hundreds, which makes him the quickest to reach this mark. Sachin Tendulkar held the previous record taking 197 innings.

The hundred was Kohli’s eighth on Indian soil. This takes him ahead MS Dhoni’s tally of seven hundreds in India. Now only Sachin Tendulkar (20) has scored more ODI hundreds on Indian soil.

Kohli on 17, completed his 1000 runs against West Indies. He became the fourth Indian to do so after Sachin Tendulkar (1573), Rahul Dravid (1348) and Sourav Ganguly (1142).

By taking 21 innings to reach this mark, Kohli became the quickest to aggregate 1000 runs against West Indies, beating Jacques Kallis and Sourav Ganguly, who each took 25 innings to accomplish this feat.

This was the eighth instance of India scoring 300 or more against West Indies – more than any other side. India were earlier at level with Australia with seven such instances.

Jerome Taylor conceded 77 runs in 9 overs– second most a West Indies bowler has conceded in a match against India, after Kemar Roach, who conceded 88 (albeit in ten overs) at Indore in 2011.

Marlon Samuels (112) scored his seventh ODI hundred – second in this series.

The hundred was Samuels’ third against India in India, which puts him at level with Ricky Ponting, Chris Gayle and Salman Butt in scoring most hundreds against India in India.

Samuels, on 16, became West Indies’ highest run-scorer against India in India. He surpassed Carl Hooper’s tally of 806 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja’s figures of 9-1-80-2 are the most expensive by an Indian bowler against West Indies. Mohinder Amarnath had conceded 79 runs at Jamshedpur in 1983.

West Indies kept their record intact of never chasing down a target of 300 in ODIs (they did beat India at Kuala Lumpur in 2006 after India had posted 309 for five, but that win was achieved by virtue of D/L method). On 24 occasions when West Indies were made to chase down 300 or more to win, they lost all.
