# Jonathan Trott (66 not out) has recorded his third fifty against India - his 14th in Tests.

# Pragyan Ojha is the second bowler after Graeme Swann to claim 20 wickets (ave.29.30) in the current Test series.  He has accomplished the feat for the second time in his Test career. Against the West Indies in 2011-12, he had first captured 20 wickets at 22.50 runs apiece.

# For the fifth time in a Test innings, Monty Panesar has delivered 52 overs - his first instance of bowling 50 overs in an innings against India.

# Panesar's impressive economy rate of 1.55 is his best in Tests when he has bowled 10 or more overs in a Test innings,

# Alastair Cook has set a record by facing 1285 balls in the present series while totalling 562 runs at an average of 80.28 - the most by a visiting batsman in a Test series in India.

# Cook's runs' tally is the highest by a visiting player in a four-Test series in India.  Just six batsmen have recorded more runs in a Test series than Cook against India on Indian soil. Everton Weekes (WI) heads the table with 779 runs (ave.111.28) in five Tests in 1948-49.

# Only Clive Lloyd (636 in 1974-75) and Kim Hughes (594 in 1979-80) have recorded more runs as captain than Cook against India in India.

# Cook's magnificent tally is the third highest by a left-handed captain against India in a Test series, behind Lloyd (636 in 1974-75) and Gary Sobers (597 in  1970-71.

# Cook's strike rate of 13.97 is his worst in a Test innings when he has posted atleast ten.
