VVS Laxman announced retirement from international cricket with immediate effect

India veteran batsman VVS Laxman has announced his retirement from 16yr of international cricket with immediate effect.

So, He will not play the Test series against New Zealand that starts from August 23 in Hyderabad.

VVS Laxman: I have tried to give my best while maintaining dignity.

The 37yr old VVS Laxman started his career in 1996 against South Africa and has amassed a total of 134 Tests scoring 8781 runs, including 17 centuries and 56 fifties. In 86 ODIs for India he has got 2338 runs with 6 centuries.

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata.
