Ross Taylor, Kruger van Wyk and Martin Guptill were the good start for New Zealand while Pragyan Ojha shine for India as Kewis take the honors’ on Day 1 of the 2nd Test match.

# Kruger van Wyk (63 not out off 85 balls) has registered his first half-century in Tests.

# Doug Bracewell (30 not out) has posted his 2nd highest score in Tests - his highest is 39 v West Indies at North Sound this year.

# Martin Guptill has recorded his 2nd fifty vs. India and his 12th in Tests.

# Guptill's 53 (79 balls) is his 2nd highest Test score against India - his 1st highest is 85 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, 2010-11.

# Brendon McCullum has registered his 11th duck in Test and 1st duck against India.

# Pragyan Ojha is the first professional spinner to open the bowling for India in a Test.

# Ross Taylor (113 off 127 balls) is the 2nd New Zealand skipper to post a hundred in a Test match in India. Glenn Turner was the first to achieve the distinction - 113 at Green Park, Kanpur in 1976-77. He is become the 6th New Zealand captain to register a century in a Test match against India.

# Ross Taylor's above century is his 2nd hundred overseas in Tests, and his 1st was 154* against England at Old Trafford in 2008.

# Ross Taylor's extraordinary strike rate of 88.97 is the highest by a New Zealand captain in Test Cricket, bettering Martin Crowe's 88.42 (107 off 121 balls) vs. Sri Lanka at Colombo, SSC in 1992-93.

# Ross Taylor's 7th hundred in Tests is his second as captain. His first century as captain was 122 not out against Zimbabwe at Napier in January this year.

# Taylor's 1st two centuries against India were 151 at Napier and 107 at Wellington - both in 2009.

# Ross Taylor and Daniel Flynn (107 runs) is New Zealand's highest 4th wicket partnership against India in India. And it is the 4th highest for the 4th wicket for New Zealand against India.

# Umpires; Steve Davis (Aus) his 42nd Test. Ian Gould (Eng) his 31st. It's 20th Test at Chinnaswamy.

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata. While Eden Gardens celebrated 150 years, Rohit lit-up the stadium with a well paced 264 off 173 to make the occasion memorable.
